Brief Encounter

© Josué Menjivar

I used to do a mini comic titled Broken Fender. It was a place where I could write different types of stories. I self published several issues for a couple of years and even had major publisher, Top Shelf, publish two issues. Back then, trying to self publish a mini-comic in colour was financial suicide. I have always preferred printed books over online comics, but I realize that on the web, it's easier to reproduce my comics in colour. So, I've begun rescanning and colouring some comics the way I would have liked for them to be seen in the first place.

This is a story about remembering things lost with time. The story was written when I was briefly living in Wildwood, New Jersey.
Anyone from there will recognize the market in the last panel. Original art was black and white on bristol board.
"Re-mastered" with Adobe Photoshop.
