I love collage. I've never been good at it, but other people's work truly inspires me to try. This piece is inspired by the beautiful work of Robert Alan. I'm constantly in awe of all his collage work.
I created my collage completely as a digital file, using scans, type, and textures. Whereas Mr. Alan, actually takes the time to look for material, scans it, processes it, and ends up with something beautiful.
Spies
Digital collage. The sketch was inspired by the old British TV series; The Avengers.
Always had a crush on Mr. Steed's assistant, Emma Peel.

The first day of summer was a cold one here, but it's a lot nicer now. The sun just makes everyone happy. I'm good either way, but I'm glad that the summer brings about a renewed creative spark in me. All I want is lots of reading, drawing, and good coffee.
Sipping coffee while I get my reading list ready.

I'm enjoying drawing again. This is from my sketchbook and I couldn't wait to colour it.

Today is National Doughnut Day. According to Wikipedia, National Doughnut Day started in 1938 as a fund raiser for Chicago's The Salvation Army. Their goal was to help the needy during the Great Depression, and to honor The Salvation Army "Lassies" of World War I, who served doughnuts to soldiers.
Go have a donut today. I already have.
Today also happens to be National Chocolate Ice Cream Day so either way,
it's going to be a sweet day!

I'm fascinated with stories about leaving. Here's a preview of a story with that theme. These are the first four of a seven page story. I'm in the process of inking it and I'm not sure what I'll do with it once I'm finished.
The first couple of pencilled pages for a new story.

The days are getting brighter and warmer. It makes me want to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee. I was recently on holiday and I came back refreshed with a clear mindset to enjoy what I do. I encourage you to think of what you love doing and then go out and do it. Welcome to May.

I drew this while thinking of my past. It was a drawing that came from somewhere deep. It's a good sketch because this drawing is reminding me that every single day is a fresh start. One thing I love saying is "Today is another day to get it right". Why not see this new month as a reminder of that. I wish you all a fresh start.
A Fresh Start.
Drawn with a ballpoint pen and coloured with Photoshop CS6.
