Sketchbook: Myrna
June 16. 2014
My digital illustration practice continues. Here are two images I did during the weekend.
Myrna
This illustration was inspired by looking at a photo of Myrna Loy. An actress (1905–1993).
Tuff Kid
Both illustrations were done using Kyle T Webster's amazing Photoshop Brushes and Photoshop actions by RetroSupply Co.

I am finally able to sit outside and drink my coffee.
This is one my favourite cups to drink my morning coffee in.
Comics Design: One Chance Cover
May 20. 2014
Cover for my new book, One Chance. I'm only printing a very limited supply of this book.
Comics Process: One Chance
May 20. 2014
I have completed my first comic book using digital tools. I drew the pages by hand and then scanned them onto Manga Studio 5EX. I struggled a bit finding brushes that would make the art look like my style. I used Ray Frenden's amazing brushes. I have to say that I don't like Manga Studio's type tool. I exported the finished pages to Adobe Photoshop to draw the balloons and add the text. Here are the first three pages of this story. Would love to know what you think.

Sketchbook: Lucky Cat Series 8
April 7. 2014
For the last couple of months, I have been trying to learn how to draw with digital tools. I have been using SketchBook Pro, Fifty-Three's Paper app for iPad, Procreate for iPad, Manga Studio Ex5, as well as drawing in Adobe Photoshop. This particular illustration was first done as a little thumbnail using a pencil. I then inked the drawing using Manga Studio 5 EX and designed and coloured it using Adobe Photoshop.

Lucky Cat Series 8
This illustration is for Zoë Baxter's excellent radio show, Lucky Cat. I'm always grateful for the opportunity to draw anything for her.
Digital Sketchbook: VanCAF Postcard
March 7. 2014
Here is another interesting digital project. This is completely done in Photoshop. No pencils were harmed. I did the colouring and inking using Kyle T. Webster's amazing Photoshop brushes.

VanCAF Postcard
This illustration is for the Vancouver Comics Art Festival's postcard set. You can see the final art here.
Digital Sketchbook: Retreat
March 3. 2014
Finally spent a day doing nothing but read, listen to music, and draw.

Retreat
Drawn with SketchBook Pro on my iPad. I'm still trying to figure this app out. It was fun trying though.

She woke up at an odd hour and questioned her decision. Maybe this is supposed to happen.
The Right Decision
