Digital Inking
Once I am finished with my Speak Softly series, this will be my next project to complete. It's a story about a detective who is in love with a legal assistant, but he has broken up with her because he thinks she can do better. Our hero, sits across her office at a coffee shop hoping to get a glimpse of her. Stay tuned.

Celebration
Aug 28. 2015
This is a scan of the original art for the Sky Masters newspaper strip from January 1959. It is inked by Wally Wood, another giant from the comics industry. I own this art and I look at it every day. I have owned it for years and it still inspires me.
Happy Birthday Jack "King" Kirby
Jack Kirby, the most prolific American comic book artist would have been 98 today. Cover to Young Romance, number 85. This is the December 1956-January 1957 issue. Jack Kirby is most known for his dynamic images full of power, but I have also loved his beautiful art in the romance comics. He just knew how to draw lovely moments.
I am very fortunate to have met him several times when I was a kid. Changed my life! For Reals!

The Lost Art of Letter Writing
An old friend wrote me a letter and sent along some old envelopes. It's been a long time since I received a letter and forgotten what a nice feeling it is to receive one.
The Reply
In the letter, my friend mentioned his difficulty with a drawing problem so I wrote him back and sent along a sketch and some simple drawing lessons. I figured I might as well send my friend a drawing coloured with real coffee. It was really nice to make some time to sit down and write a letter, put some extra stuff in it, and go to the postal centre to mail it.
My message to you, write a letter this week.

Coffee Comics
Starting my morning right with some comics pages that will be coloured with coffee.
I like colouring with coffee because the pages smell so good. The story was pencilled in May, but I just got around to colouring and inking.
I managed to get a couple of pages coloured this weekend.

Semita de Piña
Semita, a popular pastry from El Salvador, is basically a tart of bread dough filled with jam or other rich fillings. Semita de piña, with a tasty pineapple filling, is my favorite. This was made for me by a 72 year old family friend in Los Angeles and given to me by my mother. I have never tasted any other semita that is as good as hers.

"It has felt like years"
It has been a while my friend. It has felt like years since we last met. I have missed you. Really!
I have been quietly creating during the long absence. I'll be posting as often as I can, but I'm making it a goal to post at least once weekly.
I have a lot of projects going on and I want to share them with you. The store is also back. I'll be adding new books soon but I will now be offering digital books for sale for those that just want to read the stories on their mobile devices. The website redesign took a lot longer because I am not a programmer and yet, I didn't want to use WordPress templates. To be honest, I really should have hired someone to do this for me, but here it is, an amatuer attempt, once again, in presenting a redesign. This is version 13 of my website. Each time I learn a bit more on how to code and this time around, the website is responsive. It will look good on a mobile device but I'm old school and prefer the desktop. There might be some hiccups within the site so if you see anything let me know. I would really appreciate any comments you might have. I hope you like the new website.
